From May 2 to 4, 2025, Peninsula Island in Nusa Dua, Bali, will host one of the most prestigious sporting events, the IFSC Climbing World Cup 2025. This event has a bigger purpose beyond just a sports competition. One of its goals is to raise public awareness of the rapidly growing sport of rock climbing and encourage young people to participate. Additionally, with 221 participants from 31 countries, this competition serves as a platform to introduce Bali as a world-class tourist destination capable of hosting international-level sporting events. Not only that, the event also has the potential to stimulate the local economy as numerous tourists interact with local SMEs and various businesses around the venue.
Bali was chosen to host the IFSC Climbing World Cup 2025 due to its captivating natural beauty and its appeal as an international tourist destination. Nusa Dua, with its stunning beaches and iconic landscapes, provides the perfect backdrop for the event. Furthermore, Bali's well-developed infrastructure, from accommodations to transportation, makes it an ideal location for hosting large-scale international events like this one.
One of the highlights of the competition was the remarkable achievement of Kadek Adi Asih, an Indonesian athlete who earned a bronze medal in the women’s speed climbing category. Despite joining the national team in April 2025, Kadek impressed with an outstanding time of 7.27 seconds in the semifinals, defeating her opponents, including Jeong Ji Min from South Korea.
Bank Artha Graha Internasional, together with Artha Graha Group (AGG) and Artha Graha Network (AGN), played a key role in the success of this event. The bank provided a cashless payment system for local SMEs and vendors operating at the event. This not only made transactions easier but also enhanced the experience for visitors, ensuring faster and safer transactions.
Rumi Kreshna Wibowo, Corporate Secretary of Bank Artha Graha Internasional, stated that the bank aims to create a more efficient and secure experience for visitors, athletes, and event organizers. At the same time, it introduces digital payment technology to the people of Bali, allowing them to use it for daily transactions and helping small merchants who rely on direct transactions to increase their sales during the event.
"We are very proud to support the IFSC Climbing World Cup 2025 in Bali. In addition to ensuring the smooth operation of the event, we hope this cashless payment system will have a positive impact on the local economy, facilitate transactions, and introduce technology to more businesses in Bali," he said.
Bank Artha Graha Internasional’s support is expected to bring not only short-term benefits but also help introduce digital payment technology to the people of Bali. As more SMEs become accustomed to using this system, the digital economy in Bali is expected to grow rapidly, opening up new opportunities in the e-commerce and fintech sectors in the future.
