Bandung, 26 November 2025 — Indonesia once again hosted a significant ASEAN-level gathering through the 7th Executive Board Meeting and 24th General Assembly of VECONAC (Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries). Delegates from ten member states—Indonesia, Cambodia, Brunei, Malaysia, Laos, Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand—attended this series of Southeast Asian events.

This meeting was a continuation of the strategic discussions and deliberations conducted at the 6th Working Committee Meeting (WCM) in Yogyakarta, which were subsequently finalized during the Executive Board Meeting and General Assembly held in Jakarta and Bandung from 23–27 November 2025. The Veterans Legion of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI) acted as both host and Chair of VECONAC 2025.

As part of the official agenda, VECONAC delegates visited PT Pindad and the Museum of the Asian-African Conference—two important sites representing Indonesia’s defense industry strength and global diplomatic legacy. Following the visits, delegates were welcomed at a luncheon and cultural program at Layana Hall, Kiara Artha Park, Bandung.

The meeting was attended by VIP guests, including West Java Governor H. Dedi Mulyadi, S.H., M.M.; Mayor of Bandung H. Muhammad Farhan; Commander of Military Region III/Siliwangi Major General TNI Kosasih, S.E., M.Si.; West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, S.I.K., S.H., M.H.; as well as national figures such as General (Ret.) H.B.L. Mantiri; Lieutenant General (Ret.) Muzani Syukur; Air Marshal (Ret.) Wresniwiro; Vice Admiral (Ret.) Djoko Sumaryono; Commissioner General of Police (Ret.) Dr. H. Ito Sumardi, Drs., S.H., M.H., M.B.A., M.M.; along with the Heads of Delegation from Cambodia and Myanmar.

This gathering became an important moment in nurturing the friendship and shared values of ASEAN veterans. The same spirit was echoed by Sudadi, part of the welcoming committee of VECONAC 2025 Indonesia, the 37th Executive Board Meeting & 24th General Assembly in Bandung, describing the profound meaning of unity among veterans.“ VECONAC Forever, Forever VECONAC. These words are not merely a closing formality. They are not just a slogan uttered to enliven the atmosphere. They are a quiet promise bound by history and devotion. A declaration that although time passes and weapons have long been laid to rest, the spirit of veterans’ struggle will never fade. It is a spirit that will never retire. It is a recognition of the strength of solidarity and a call to continue living through service, example, and unity,” said Sudadi.
