Bank Artha Graha Internasional once again took part in the Earth Hour 2025 event, which was held on March 22, 2025, in the SCBD area of Jakarta. This year, Earth Hour carried the theme of water and energy conservation under the slogan “Electricity and Water Fasting.”

As in previous years, Earth Hour Jakarta centered its activities in the SCBD area, aiming to raise public awareness about the importance of energy conservation and environmental preservation.

Leading up to the Earth Hour main event, Bank Artha Graha Internasional, together with the Artha Graha Group (AGG) and Artha Graha Network (AGN), organized a waste cleanup campaign from March 20 to 23, 2025. This campaign was carried out across all branches of Bank Artha Graha Internasional, starting from areas surrounding each branch, as a demonstration of the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability. All bank employees participated in the initiative, aiming to create cleaner and healthier surroundings. The total waste collected from the campaign amounted to 207.23 kg of organic waste and 202.66 kg of inorganic waste, making a combined total of 409.89 kg.

The Corporate Secretary of Bank Artha Graha Internasional, Rumi Kreshna Wibowo, stated, “At Bank Artha Graha Internasional, we are committed to continuously supporting sustainability movements by educating the public and actively participating in initiatives like Earth Hour. Through small actions like conserving energy and organizing cleanup efforts, we can collectively create a greener and better future for generations to come,” she said.

In addition to the cleanup campaign, all Bank Artha Graha branches across Indonesia also joined the Earth Hour Switch Off Ceremony at the SCBD main event. All branches turned off their electricity simultaneously at a designated time, symbolizing energy conservation. The Switch Off Ceremony was streamed live on YouTube, connecting similar activities taking place across the western, central, and eastern regions of Indonesia.

Through full participation in the Switch Off event, Bank Artha Graha Internasional managed to save 181.45 KVA of power and achieved a carbon saving of 126.29 kg. This figure reflects the company’s commitment to supporting sustainability and reducing the impact of climate change through significant energy savings.

The Earth Hour main event in SCBD featured not only the Switch Off activity, but also a series of meaningful programs. The 2025 Earth Hour celebration at SCBD began with a compelling talk show titled “Clear Waters, Brighter Future: Tackling Microplastics in Our Daily Lives,” featuring expert speakers such as John William Candra from Sobatair.jkt, Head of Jakarta’s Environmental Agency Asep Kuswanto, and Arthakes. In addition, visitors could enjoy a mini exhibition aimed at educating the public on reducing plastic waste and turning it into useful products.

The highlight of the event was the synchronized lights-off moment at 8:30 PM WIB, symbolizing energy conservation, followed by an acoustic music performance to entertain the participants. Afterward, the lights were turned back on as a symbol of our collective awareness of the importance of energy conservation for a better future.
