Subang — Artha Graha Peduli, through its agribusiness unit Sumber Agro Sentosa (SAS) and Bank Artha Graha Internasional (BAGI), is implementing the Rice Intensification Program and Healthy Food Program as part of its commitment to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in Indonesia.
These two initiatives not only aim to increase farmers’ yields but also strengthen rural economic independence and support the national food security agenda.
The Rice Intensification Program, implemented in Karanghegar Village, has shown a significant impact — with rice productivity increasing by up to 20% compared to the previous planting season. Through direct guidance from Artha Graha Peduli’s Field Agricultural Extension Officers (PPL), some farmers who previously suffered crop failures are now achieving optimal harvests.
The program provides comprehensive support to farmers — from land preparation to harvest — with 24-hour technical assistance covering the selection of certified superior seeds, the precise and timely use of fertilizers and pesticides, and efficient water management.
In addition to technical guidance, micro-financing support from Bank Artha Graha Internasional has been a key success factor. Access to low-interest credit helps farmers obtain working capital without heavy financial burdens, reinforcing local economic self-sufficiency.
One of the program’s innovations is the use of “Saung di Sawah” (field huts) as night monitoring posts to prevent pest attacks, such as stem borers and rats — common causes of crop failure. This approach has proven effective in maintaining crop stability.

Meanwhile, in Kadawung Village, Subang, Bank Artha Graha Internasional is running the Healthy Food Program, focusing on producing healthy rice through sustainable organic farming. The program guides farmers to transition from chemical fertilizers and pesticides to eco-friendly agricultural practices that utilize natural local resources. “This program will continue to expand to other regions so that more farmers in Indonesia can benefit,” said Hardimo, Subang Regional Coordinator of PT Sumber Agro Sentosa (SAS)/Artha Graha Peduli.
The program’s ecological approach includes maintaining ducks as natural predators of golden apple snails (without chemical pesticides), developing goat farms to produce high-quality organic compost, and cultivating herbal plants used for natural pest control while enhancing on-farm biodiversity.
Through this system, farmers are guided to build an agricultural ecosystem that harmonizes with nature and prioritizes soil, crop, and consumer health.
To ensure quality and traceability, every batch of healthy rice produced in Kadawung Village is labeled with a QR code, enabling consumers to trace the product’s origin — including farmer identity, land location, and farming process details. This initiative aligns with the Healthy Food Agricultural Industry Standard (IPPS) developed by Artha Graha Peduli to strengthen public trust in local food products.
Both programs share the same goal: achieving safe and sustainable food production, developing integrated organic farming models, and improving the welfare of local farmers. “We stay with the farmers in the fields to keep them motivated and provide quick solutions when challenges arise,” said Saiful Bahri, one of Artha Graha Peduli’s Field Officers, during the harvest event on October 19, 2025.
Through collaboration among farmers, financial institutions, and field mentors, Artha Graha Peduli is committed to making agriculture a strong, healthy, and competitive foundation of Indonesia’s people’s economy in the modern era.
