Tree Planting Activity in Medan with The National Bank Association (Perbanas).

The National Bank Association (Perbanas) is committed to social responsibility to the community to provide sustainable value and benefits for stakeholders.

One of the activities carried out is sustainable environmental preservation.

Perbanas Headquarters in collaboration with Perbanas North Sumatra Region through the Caring Banking Community Committee (KMPP) carried out tree planting activities on the banks of the Sei Sikambing River last Saturday (2/3/2024).

A total of 300 trees were planted around the banks of the Sei Sikambing River.

Tiolina Tumanggor, Deputy Treasurer of Perbanas Pusat, said that planting is not just about moving seeds to be planted on a stretch of land that has been made into a hole, but also planting a sense of love for what is planted so that children and grandchildren can share it.

“If we think for the next year, then plant a seed, if we think for the next ten years, then plant a tree. Cutting down a tree takes only 5 minutes, but it takes a generation to grow a tree to the size of this mahogany tree,” he said in a written statement, Monday (4/3/2024).

KMPP consists of representatives of Perbanas member banks and is a forum for social, environmental and humanitarian activities.

Through various activities carried out by KMPP, it aims to make a positive contribution to society and the environment in a sustainable manner.

Through this activity, Perbanas through KMPP believes that it can continue to provide increased awareness to the younger generation to care about the environment.
