JAKARTA, August 1, 2026 – As part of its ongoing commitment to driving MSME growth and strengthening the national creative economy ecosystem, PT Bank Artha Graha Internasional Tbk (BAGI), in collaboration with Artha Graha Group, fully supports the hosting of The Local Market: Pasar Wiwitan Edition. Held in the SCBD area of Jakarta, the event takes place on August 1–2, 2026, and is projected to become a regular event on the first weekend of every month.

This event is a strategic collaboration among The Local Market, Creative Event Entertainment, Artha Graha Group, and the Ministry of Creative Economy (EKRAF) to provide an inclusive, warm public space rich in Indonesian culture, art, culinary offerings, and local craftsmanship.

The presence of The Local Market in SCBD marks the transformation of a modern business district into a vibrant public space for communities and MSMEs. Featuring nearly 200 selected local vendors, Bank Artha Graha Internasional sees this initiative as a concrete step toward opening broader market access for creative entrepreneurs, local producers, and regional artisans.

Starting with the Pasar Wiwitan edition—meaning "the beginning"—Jakarta residents can enjoy a new weekend destination operating every month (Saturday from 07:00 WIB to Sunday at 21:00 WIB). The SCBD area serves not only as a financial and business hub but also as a warm place for interaction between the public and local creators.

Founder of KuKa and initiator of The Local Market, Titonius Karto, explained that the event is designed to offer a holistic experience. "The Local Market aims to be a space where people come not just to shop, but to feel and experience. There are local products, food, music, culture, and direct conversations with the makers. Visitors leave with memorable experiences and stories," he said.

This initiative was praised by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, who emphasized the importance of sustainable spaces for the creative economy. "This market starts at 7:00 AM. It represents the work of creative economy players and local mothers across Indonesia that needs continuous promotion. On the first weekend of every month, SCBD becomes a symbol of collaboration that provides a space for local creative products," Irene stated.

Echoing this sentiment, Deputy Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Veronica Tan, highlighted the importance of curation and safe spaces for women and families. "Through this event, curation is conducted so we can discover the hidden potential of local markets. We are upgrading SCBD into a venue offering engaging activities, local works, and creative play areas for children within the creative economy ecosystem," expressed Veronica.

"Bank Artha Graha Internasional's support for The Local Market is a concrete manifestation of implementing sustainability and financial inclusion principles. By providing cashless payment facilities, financial solutions for MSMEs, and activating space in the SCBD area, Bank Artha Graha Internasional continues to accompany creative entrepreneurs so they can scale up, remain globally competitive, and deliver a tangible economic impact for the community," said Tomy Jongelis, Associate Director of Bank Artha Graha Internasional.

In addition to featuring culinary zones, interactive workshops, and a showcase of top local brands, the Pasar Wiwitan edition also presents live cultural performances from Sanggar Widya Pramana, Yogyakarta, bringing a rich cultural atmosphere into the heart of Jakarta's dynamic cityscape.
